Information for Wheelchair & Mobility Scooter Booking
Wheelchairs
20 Dec – 24 January / 8pm – 10.30pm (except Christmas Day)
The Festival has 3 x wheelchairs available, for free, for visitors to the Festival to use each night. These can be booked in advance by using our online booking system.
Wheelchairs can be collected from the Festival Hub from 8pm, and should be returned to the Info container in the Festival Hub by 10:30pm. If you are finished with your wheelchair before 10:30pm, please bring it back, as someone else may be able to use it.
Please note: Some parts of the lighting route are loose gravel paths, and can be quite bumpy for those in wheelchairs or prams. The gravel can also make these more difficult to push. If this is a concern for you, please check the Festival Map for the sealed route, or speak to our helpful staff and volunteers for more information.
Mobility Scooters
20 Dec – 24 January / 8pm – 10.30pm (except Christmas Day)
The Festival has 6 x mobility scooters available, for free, for visitors to the Festival to use each night. These must be booked in advance with Taranaki Disabilities Information Centre Trust by calling or texting 022 166 8720.
Mobility Scooters can be collected from outside the Fernery & Display houses (next to the Fred Parker Lawn), from 8pm, and must be returned before 10:30pm. Accessible parking is available at the TSB Stadium, and a small transport cart is available to give those needing assistance a ride up or down the hill between the TSB Stadium carpark and the Fernery.
Please note: The Festival Map highlights the sealed areas of the lighting route, so please check this if you have any concerns.
Wheelchairs, Mobility Scooters, and accessible transport to/from the TSB Stadium are not available on Christmas Day.
Thanks to Taranaki Disabilities Information Centre Trust for providing this service.
